Lisa is a person who cares. She cares about your situation, she cares about your interests. She will definitely fight for every inch and she'll do it with class and dignity. She is humble in how she weilds her considerable experience and wise in how she applies it. Don't expect a showboat: expect results. At the same time, she is diligent and no nonsense. She will ask tough questions and get you prepared for reality. If you're searching for an employment law attorney, DO NOT pass her up. I have already recommended her to friends and family just in case they need a secret weapon.

Lisa was recommended to me from within my professional network, and meeting with her was one of the best decisions I’ve made. We faced a very difficult battle together, and I felt like we were true partners through it all. She is extremely passionate about justice, and she will fight HARD for it. That said, she will never compromise her ethics, which I found critically important while waging a battle centered on legal and ethical principles. Lisa will give you the straight truth every time, which you need in these matters. She’s whip smart, wise, resourceful, hard working, and has a reputation for fighting for the best interest of her clients.

From the very first phone conversation, I knew I had contacted the right person to help me navigate through some workplace matters I was experiencing in my current place of employment. Not only was Lisa quick to personally respond back to my phone inquiry, she took the time on the initial phone call to truly listen to my situation to determine a course of action and even provided some initial legal explanations as they related to her field of expertise. I have not had a lot of experience with attorneys in the past on a personal level, but the times I have had to contact one, I never was able to just get a question or two answered over the phone. Lisa is an experienced attorney and her knowledge and work ethic are very apparent from the moment you first talk with her. When we did meet at her office, she really took the time to actively listen to the complexity of my situation and did not rush me one bit as I stumbled through a year or two of incidents regarding my work situation. And it did not end there. She explained various options I may have and offered to formulate a game plan and guided me through it step by step. I dare say, she took the time to "talk me off the ledge" a couple of times when things escalated at my place of employment. Lisa is a true professional. She explains the law to you in a manner that you can understand and not feel intimidated. But what I appreciate most about her, what really makes her the total package to me, is her ability to be both direct and compassionate at the same time. She does not sugar coat anything for you and lays it out there, good, bad or indifferent. And I appreciate this from an attorney, and an individual in general. She has the perfect balance of assertiveness and empathy. I trusted her completely through this process and was not disappointed. If you are in need of this type of service, I highly recommend you give her a call. I assure you, from the moment you speak with her, you will know you made the right choice.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
