I just want to give a tremendous Thank You for everything you did in helping me with my case! Amanda, You?ve been a great friend and an even better attorney! The best decision I ever made was to hire you to help me through this chapter in my life. I felt so comfortable asking you the tough questions. Then knowing that your response was knowledgable and geared towards my best interest! I would recommend your services in a heart beat, to friends and family. if they should find themselves in this same boat! Mark...

?You are a wonderful attorney with feelings for your clients. I find this a terrific attribute in your profession that unfortunately seems to be very uncommon. You impressed me with your knowledge and your uncanny way of understanding the situation with limited explanation. Cheryl was also extremely sweet and kind when I had to call the office. You have definitely chosen well with her as your assistant. I will highly recommend you and your office staff to friends and neighbors who may be going through similar situations. Again, thank you for helping me through this terrible time.?

I have never forgotten how you helped navigate a confusing situation with your expertise and compassion. Each case you represent is different but I know this one touched your heart. You also went above and beyond by assisting Emily (another angel) with the guardianship and helped in attaining the property deed so that I wouldn't have to travel to Florida. Although we have never met I feel as though you were more than an attorney. I will forever be grateful to you for all you did for dad and me. Thank you and thank you for your military service.

Amanda represented me for my divorce and custody case. First of all, she is a good person and that makes a huge difference. I truly mean that! Amanda really is a beautiful person-- all the way to her core. I really appreciate the honesty and integrity she showed me. Secondly, she is upfront, honest, and professional. She follows the law. She respects the court and the judges. She is by the books. She won't lie to you and tell you she can deliver unrealistic expectations. She isn't dishonest or a schmoozer. She is real and consciousness of your retainer fee. Lastly, and most importantly, she truly CARED about my case and my daughters well-being. There were numerous occasions where she responded to phone calls and emails, --even on the weekends and every time I communicated with her she was never inconvenienced by the question or concern. My trial did not go the way that I wanted it to go 100 %. With all of the evidence in the world, quality witnesses, and a great plan, the judge and the system are the deciding factors-- sometimes wrong and sometimes unfair. Attorneys aren't the judges, the system, or God. I can still say without a doubt that Amanda represented me with confidence, class, honesty, and integrity! How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
