Mr. Petruzzi has devoted his entire legal career to criminal matters. He has represented individuals and corporations in Federal and State courts nationwide during criminal investigations, criminal trials, criminal appeals, and in all post-conviction matters. He has also assisted clients in Europe, the Caribbean, and South America pending extradition or rendition. As such, Mr. Petruzzi has the experience and knowledge to earn the reputation that he has as a tenacious and aggressive advocate who thoroughly prepares for the defense of his clients.
Mr. Petruzzi is a graduate of Hamilton College and the University Of Miami School Of Law. He began his criminal defense career in 1993 with prominent Miami criminal defense attorney Roy Black. During his association with Mr. Black, Mr. Petruzzi represented clients in Federal and State Court charged with complex white collar, narcotics, and racketeering offenses. Since starting his own firm in 1998, Mr. Petruzzi's practice has included virtually every conceivable type of criminal matter including drug offenses, money laundering, murder (death penalty and non-death penalty), tax fraud, mortgage fraud, medicare fraud, Ponzi schemes, and many other offenses, in both Federal and State courts nationwide. He has represented clients from all walks of life in high profile cases across the United States.
Mr. Petruzzi is a member of the Bar of the State of Florida. Mr. Petruzzi has received the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" by the American Trial Lawyer's Association in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. He has been awarded with an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell for many years. The Martindale-Hubbell PEER REVIEW RATINGS are an objective indicator of a lawyer's high ethical standards and professional ability, generated from evaluations of lawyers by other members of the bar and the judiciary in the United States and Canada.
