We did our due diligence in visiting 5 law firms before selecting the Law Offices of Cynthia Waisman. The law firm had our highest ratings in all the pertinent areas important to us: an attorney fully up to date with frequently changing regulations; different easily accessible law office locations; professional-level and responsive office staff and; a lawyer readily responsive to our recurring questions as our legal matter made its way through all the successive steps toward its eventual and successful completion. Equally important, the cost of this law firm?s high caliber of competence is very competitive and in our case the price was actually a bit below all the other law offices. Excellent legal services at a very fair cost. Everything we were looking for - no surprises, only steadfast performance. The type of law firm we all want.

My wife and I were impressed by the thorough and highly professional level of services that Cynthia provided. We especially appreciated that, for one of the legal matters on our agenda, she recommended another attorney who would be more suited to handle that particular item. Our previous experience suggests that this level of frankness and integrity is not universal among attorneys. Our appointments were easily scheduled and started right on time. We will definitely use Cynthia for our future legal needs.

Very responsive and helpful. Great interaction with everyone at the firm. As an attorney myself, I can be a harsh judge but Cynthia was "my kind" of lawyer...open and friendly while being professional and knowledgeable. I will definitely recommend Cynthia to my colleagues, friends and family.

Fast, effective and friendly. I?m so grateful to have our will and trust drafted so easily and quickly and I?m confident leaning on her for assistance with any changes. I?m also grateful she participates in the ARAG network to help people like me find affordable solutions for estate planning and other matters.

We started working with Cynthia about a month after our Mother's passing in 2019. She helped us work through our Mother's estate and trust. This was more complex than we expected it to be because of some loose ends left around our Mother's assets and the associated documentation by previous advisors. Even though there were multiple delays (all Covid-Related) Cynthia stayed patient, helped us tie the pieces together, and made sure everything came to a proper closure. She kept us informed each step along the way. Cynthia also has an excellent support staff. When you call her office, a "live person" that knows what they're talking about answers the phone.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
