From the Day I started working With Attorney Ronald Hood I knew that I had found the lawyer that would take me through a painful process of rectifying a multimillion tax liability with the IRS. Working with Ron over the course of a couple years gave me confidence that we will get this done. He was very professional ...his communication was concise, courteous and very expedient. His knowledge made me feel very comfortable that he is the right person to be handling this for me. Long story short ....My tax liability was reduced to zero and the liens against me were dropped..... I would highly recommend Atty. Ronald Hood to anyone who needs a Tax Expert ...I hope I dont need him again soon ...but I will always use him should the situation arise ....Many thanks Atty. Ron Hood !!!

The very first moment you speak to Attorney Ronald Hood, you can breathe a sigh of relief because you are in good hands. My experience with Attorney Hood was nothing short of exemplary and I give him a five star rating (if I could rate higher than that I would). Attorney Hood is not only extremely knowledgeable and thorough, but he maintains excellent communication with the client and responds quickly to client inquiries and follow-up questions throughout the process. I highly recommend Ronald Hood for any tax-related needs, particularly matters regarding the IRS. Excellent attorney.

Ronald F Hood is the best of the best in his field. I would highly recommend his services to anyone with tax problems. I had a tax debt of $84,883.00 at the time the IRS accepted my Offer in Compromise in the amount of $1,000.00, a savings of $83,883.00. Thank you so much Ronald F Hood.

I thought my life was over as I was more than $126,000 in debt to the IRS and they were tightening the screws. There was no putting off the IRS anymore. It was curtains for me and then I called Attorney Ron Hood. From the start to the finish, he was with me the whole way, answering questions, giving advice, procuring documents and representing me on the telephone and in written correspondence to the IRS. All while charging a fair price for his work. But it was more than just having a great lawyer because he was also a good new friend who truly cared about this horrible mess I had got myself into. The bottom line is Attorney Ron Hood submitted an offer in Compromise to the IRS and my offer of $1224 was accepted........an amount less than one penny on the dollar for a debt of more than $126,000! I feel like he saved my life and now I can sleep at night. J.M. - Cape Cod , Massachusetts

Attorney Hood successfully helped me with a large IRS issue which was negotiated down to about a 50th of what I originally owed. Ron is also very approachable, personable, which I very much appreciated through this whole process

I am most pleased to express my delight with Attorney Hood's service on my behalf in representing me before the IRS during an IRS audit of my tax returns. He was immediate in responses and also, followed through without delay or prodding on my part. In this century which, unfortunately, lends itself to dreadful customer service without genuine care, this experience was refreshing and reassuring. I do not hesitate to recommend this gentleman to anyone searching for legal assistance and professional and proper service. Your needs will be addressed and attention to detail will not lack. My highest regards go to Attorney Hood's manner in handling all facets of my IRS audit. It has been a pleasure to have had him represent me and I will not forget his compassion concerning my needs. The outcome was more than expected in this day and age. Extremely appreciated. C.E. Milton, MA.

I was in a panic when two IRS agents showed up at my doorstep. Ron was available immediately to successfully guide me through an appeal over the past year, calmly and clearly explaining options and consequences all along the way.

Ron is a very knowledgeable and professional. He helped us through an IRS audit. This process took a few years and Ron kept in contact with the IRS and after a point reached out to the tax advocacy to get assistance when things really became bogged down. We were able to see a $65,000 bill go to $30.75. To say this was a great relief is an understatement. I would certainly recommend Ron Hood.

Initially Ron talked me "off the ledge" when I received the dreaded levy paper work from the IRS. It only took a couple days to get the appropriate paperwork to the IRS to give me the time to get my ducks in a row. Ron successfully negotiated my tax debt of $53,000 to just over $6000 in my Offer in Compromise. A savings of $47,000!!!!!! While all of this was going on I was navigating through a divorce , Ron was always available to answer questions some of which were no tax related, much appreciated!!!! Great guy, excellent attorney!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
