0.5 out of 5 stars

Ms Tarkan's office conducted themselves in such an unprofessional and unethical manner I had to report them to multiple offices and agencies, and actually ended up reporting her to police also as part of an ongoing investigation. I'd give 0 stars if I could - this law office creates more legal problems than it solves.

Terrible lawyer. I thought she was a shark, paid her to send letter for me, she wrote a very weak letter and then told me by phone she wasnt on my side, also her office is the messiest office I have ever set foot in, I dont know how anyone normal can function in such a clutter mess.

She is tough and sometimes it can be mistaken for speaking rudely however that?s not how I interpreted it I found her to be her extremely passionate for her profession and frankly she gets the job done Most importantly she knows everything there is to know about the law when it comes to Tenant Landlord issues She is definitely no nonsense she doesn?t allow her clients to get pushed around nor railroaded I definitely recommend her services If you want a tough educated lawyer to get you what you deserve look no further

I paid for a consultation for my case. I found Ms. Tarkan to be unprofessional, she was unresponsive for several weeks and repeatedly asked for things I had already sent her. She was condescending and dismissive in discussing my claim. I wasted several weeks and did not receive a refund for my consultation.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
