Great experience with Thatcher Law Firm from start to finish. I called a few firms, but found that Stephanie at Thatcher gave me the most comfort by fully explaining how Thatcher operates, performing the intake questionnaire with me right then and there, and getting me scheduled for a call with the lawyer she felt would best suit my needs within 2 business days. Wayne Wiseman was great to work with. He was extremely knowledgable, patient, honest, and generous with his time. He demonstrated he truly cared about me and my situation, gave me very clear and practical advice, and followed up with me promptly to see how my situation panned out. In addition, Thatcher's billable hours rate and policy was very fair for them and for me, and was the most competitive when compared with other law firms I reached out with. I highly recommend Thatcher Law Firm and know that they are the ones I will return to if I need future legal advice or help.

I was referred to Linda Thatcher for an employment issue. I am so glad I found her. I've dealt with other attorneys in the past, and none were of the caliber of Linda. She is a no nonsense professional and will zealously advocate for you at every corner. I am so pleased with the work of Linda and her staff.

I hired Thatcher Law Firm to get me overtime I was owed from my old job. Wayne and Lindsay did a great job and negotiated a great settlement. I received the overtime and then some. Excellent investment.

Lindsay did a wonderful job representing me before the EEOC. Before I found the Thatcher, my employer ignored me and didn't take my lawsuit seriously. Lindsay and Linda helped get the EEOC to find in my favor. Although I didn't want to pay for a consult, they were clearly worth it.

When I first contacted this law firm, I spoke with a representative who took extensive notes about my claims. Based on the thoroughness, I decided to pay the consultation fee. What a mistake. The lawyer I spoke with, was very disappointing. He was not a good listener and most of the time was him talking and repeating the same things. His advice was to wait and see. That was very bad advice and costly for a lost opportunity. Then he wanted another consultation fee before proceeding. Very disappointing.

Recently, I needed an employment attorney to manage a separation from my employer. Specifically, severance package review and negotiation if needed. My initial contact was with Stephanie Hubelbank and Linda Thatcher ultimately handled several consultations with me before and during my severance package review. From the moment I contacted the firm until completion I was so impressed with how responsive and timely, they were to my needs. The consultation with Stephanie Thatcher was great ? she guided me on my options with legal consultation and stepped me through the best path to take. I cannot recommend The Thatcher Law firm enough ? an excellent firm! I will certainly use them in the future when needed.

I never thought I would need an employment attorney. Thatcher was recommended by another employment attorney. I found Vijay, Aron, and the entire team responsive and great to work with. They return calls and emails promptly and their explanations are direct and straightforward. They worked to get me the best possible outcome. They know their stuff and they are good at what they do.

I worked with Aron Zavaro on my employment case. He was quick to respond to my inquiries and gave strong advice for negotiations. We got to a result I felt comfortable with, which took about three months. I highly recommend Thatcher Law Firm.

I engaged the Thatcher Law Firm for advice regarding an employment matter. They responded to my web query promptly and explained the options for engagement very clearly. I was set up with an experienced, professional, and personable attorney - Aron Zavaro - who provided excellent guidance and advice. The advice I got was direct and objective and valuable. I again engaged Thatcher/Aron to help prepare some documentation and again, the support was prompt, professional and thorough. I would highly recommend the Thatcher Law Firm certainly for any employment-related issue or for any other issue that falls within their expertise. The advice and support resulted in me negotiating a higher separation amount without litigation.

Linda Thatcher and Stephanie Hubelbank navigated me through some very rocky waters, always steering me expertly and smoothly in the right direction. Aside from their legal acumen and competence, they are compassionate and honest. I highly recommend them.

If you think you need a lawyer, you should already have one. And you need to call Thatcher Law Firm. While going through the worst time of my life, my legal team at Thatcher provided me with strategic guidance in advising me of what to do, say, and when in order to best prepare my case and survive my situation. In discussions, they quickly foresaw opposition's arguments and took every measure to not just negate, but obliterate, their arguments. To say that shock and awe was elicited by my team [from opposition] is an understatement. My sense is they were able to do so based on their vast experience and expertise from "both sides of the table" in representing both organizations and individuals. Even being one person and not a company, my team was empathetic, attentive, flexible, and most of all - and I don't know how else to say this - as protective of me as if I was their family. My case was fought with both world-class, dynamic intensity as masters of employment law as well as personal-touches in validation, assurance, and maintaining robust availability and responsiveness (so I never felt alone, not once). Thatcher Law Firm's lawyers are "the good guys." They defied the stereotypical lawyer stigma by bringing genuine compassion and fierce aggression to my case and I am forever grateful.

My wife filled an EEOC case and it was accepted. I recommended that she get a lawyer because we were getting a little beyond my expertise as a business executive. She met with the junior lawyer at Thatcher Law Firm named Lindsay. He charged my wife $300 dollars and looked at a plethora of evidence showing discrimination. She told him the law firm representing her company and he said they were the best in the state. Ain?t that supposed to be you? He then proceeded to tell her she does not have a case despite all the valid evidence however she should take comfort in knowing she got their attention. I am no lawyer but I have been working as an corporate executive 20 plus years and if anyone of my leaders would have done what was done to my wife, they would have been fired because of legal exposure to company. It was clear he did not want to fight the battle as a litigator and was looking for an easy win because lawyers care greatly about their record. The other possibility is he perceived this was not a money maker. That was a mistake but I have plenty of money. My biggest concern was not that he did not want to take the case. He has every right to make that call. My concern is he was disingenuous by telling my wife she did not have a strong EEOC case to fight. Don?t take our hard earned money and flat out give false information just to justify why you don?t want the case. I knew he was wrong so I spent some time and effort finding another creditable lawyer who told my wife the truth. We found a great lawyer and she said my wife has a great case and asked a ton of question the other lawyer said nothing about. She even made recommendations that clearly showed her knowledge in labor law. So do yourself a favor and stay away from these folks. They are sharks and only want your money and they are scared of a legal fight. Who refers to another firm as the best in the state? Any lawyer showing fear of a fight should be an indicator to run. Can?t take a poodle into dog fight with a Pitt bull!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
