As both a licensed attorney and licensed dentist, Becky Bye possesses a perfect background for medical malpractice law, dental malpractice law, and other areas of personal injury.
Dr. Bye practiced law for a large law firm and in the government before choosing to use her previous background in science and her passion for healthcare to attend dental school. During Dr. Bye’s four-year dental program, Dr. Bye’s coursework included all aspects of general dentistry, pathology, head and neck anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pain management and other related medical science. She also spent time learning the clinical side of dentistry in the school’s student dental clinic, rotating through the emergency dentistry, oral surgery, endodontic, special needs, and restorative dentistry departments. She had a three-week immersion in the pediatric dental clinic within the Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Additionally, Dr. Bye spent time during her last year in public health clinics throughout the Front Range to provide this same comprehensive care to patients.
While Becky was in dental school, she maintained an interest in law and continued to use her legal background for the benefit of patients. During her time in dental school, she was elected President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Student Dental Association and was also elected to serve on the board for her student chapter of Alpha Omega, an international dental fraternity whose mission includes professional excellence and access to dental care. After graduating dental school and practicing general dentistry in the Denver metropolitan area, Dr. Bye merged her passion for law and the health sciences as a practicing attorney at Tomazin, Hillyard & Clor, LLP.
Dr. Bye has remained active in the legal community throughout her legal career. She has served on the University of Denver Sturm College of Law Alumni Council, the Denver Bar Association Docket committee, and previously chaired the Colorado Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. She is a member and President-Elect of the Judge William E. Doyle Inn of Court, and in 2011, was selected as one of two lawyers in the country to work with barristers in the United Kingdom for the Inns of Courts’ prestigious Pegasus Scholarship program.
Dr. Bye met her husband through their mutual involvement in the legal community. She is a proud mom of a young son and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, watching British costume dramas, and anything that involves her alma mater, Colgate University.
