Mr Chalpin took the time to give me numerous options to deal with my Landlord issues, as he doesn't handle those. After 30 calls to Others he Actually took the time to speak with me & was caring. I hired Mr. Chalpin to represent my wife in a landlord filing to recover unpaid rent and damage to our property after the tenant moved out. We paid him a retainer. After we paid him the retainer, he appeared uninterested in the case because he kept advising us to settle because the tenant also count-sue my wife. He needed to prepare to handle the matter to trial and was hoping the matter would not go to trial. When we agreed to settle the matter with the ex-tenant, the settlement document sent to him for review had errors, and he didn?t even read them before asking us to sign. I had to prompt him to review the errors stated in the settlement documents. I was completely disappointment using his services.

Attorney called me back on the same day I left a message. He listened to all details of my case and gave me clear and straightforward review of my options, indicating money saving options. It was more than I expected and I definitely will follow his advise and will use his professional services in the future.

I called Mr. Chalpin's office which advertised a "Free Consult". As soon as Mr. Chalpin's answered he didn't ask my name. He asked me "are you the landlord or the tenant". I responded the "tenant, possibly. Can I ask my question it's just a yes or no that I need". He replies "If I answer your question then I'm going to be inundated with more questions and I don't have that kind of time. You can go to my website and maybe find what you're looking for on the links." Prior to the call, I browsed his website and it didn't address my question at all. I informed him of that. He replies "well you need to look deeper, all the information you need are in the links." Here I am 3 minutes into a call, when all I wanted out of his "free consult" was a yes or no. I would've said thank you and that was it. My unasked QUESTION: [Do storage units (extra space, self storage) fall under landlord tenant law?] He is short, curt man with unnecessary bias towards "tenants". I would not recommend.
