If you care for your loved one I would definitely not recommend Mike Marinaro He will not have his best interest in your case!! The man stayed on the phone with me the first time I talked to him for as long as I needed just lying to me about everything he could do for me Because he wanted my money After the check was cashed he clearly didn?t give to shits about me or my loved one! This man is the biggest crook I have ever met ! Mike literally bragged him self up of how good he was bla bla He never returned my phone calls Promised he was going to do several different things in the case and never did one thing that he talked about Literally put no time in what so ever and it showed up until the last day I tried asking where my money was spent and the time he had invested because I honestly tell that he knew nothing and didn?t care about me or my loved one just himself and the profit that he was making Anyone that takes that much money from someone and does nothing in return not one thing that he promised I would definitely not recommend this man for anything he?s truly all about him self and his money I would hate for anyone else to get ripped off by this man!! It makes me sick every day when I think about it I literally called 15 times and no call back So please be aware that he will be nice to you on the first initial phone call promise all that he can do for you until you send him the money then he hands down will drop the ball! Karma is the only way I can deal with it now So all I?m trying to say and recommend to anyone else if you care about your loved one and wasting money you definitely need to look else where or just get a public defender

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
