Marla is on point and very knowledgable on work laws, especially unemployment cases, which is why I went to her for a couple of sessions for guidance and review of my PUA case with the UIA. Towards the end of Dec 2021 I received a determination letter stating I had to pay back money, which I knew I clearly shouldn't have to. And so, she sat with me through a couple sessions to show me my case, what I needed to do to protest, and reviewed my submission and protest letter before I submitted it online. After submitting, it was only 5 days later that they redetermined in my favor! Such a fast turn around (all took place in 3 weeks). I feel so stress free today. She is well worth the hire. She is honest and direct. You will get to the core of fixing your situation. Thank you, Marla!

Ms. Linderman gave me the expert support I needed to navigate an employment dispute. She was tough yet encouraging, very knowledgeable about the laws pertaining to my case, and she helped me focus on the most important facts in preparation for my hearing. I had a favorable outcome, thanks to Marla!

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for making the decision to take my case. When I received your message that you would, indeed, take my case I felt relieved, as you are known as one of the top lawyers in this field of law. It was a stressful situation in my legal matter with my former employer and knowing they were a larger corporation, I felt intimidated. Thanks to your expertise and prowess, my case, because of you, was won. ?Thank You? The words seem so very simple, but they carry with them all my appreciation!! You are truly a blessing! Sincerely, TMP

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
