When life begins to challenge my clients, I give them the legal knowledge and resources to fight back.
My law firm, the office of Susan J. Pearlstein, Attorney at Law, represents individuals throughout Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and surrounding areas of Western Pennsylvania. My practice is devoted to family law matters. I personally handle every case, from start to finish, which really makes a difference in my clients lives as they deal with highly personal and sometimes devastating legal matters.
After more than 30 years as an attorney, my clients have become more than just clients. I work everyday to make their lives better, and I take pride in watching them find the light at the end of the tunnel when negotiating child custody agreements, litigating property division disputes or counseling them through various debt relief options.
I want my clients to walk away from their legal challenges knowing they received the most favorable outcome possible. It starts by giving them the time and attention they need up front during an initial consultation and preliminary meetings about their cases. I do my best work when I have a complete understanding of my clients' perspective on financial hardships or trouble at home. Once I understand the nature of their personal assets, their debts, their family structure and special circumstances, I can develop a plan of attack — a legal strategy that resolves the issue as quickly, cost-effectively and favorably as possible.
While it is important to prepare for every case knowing that it could potentially go to trial, your attorney's goal should not necessarily be to take you to court. Courtroom proceedings can be costly, and it leaves decision-making up to a judge in court, who may not have a complete understanding of your personal needs.
My services as a mediator help people achieve more personalized and favorable outcomes in a wide range of family law issues. If negotiating a favorable agreement out of court is possible, I will do so, keeping my clients informed every step of the way so that they get to make the final decisions.
