5.0 out of 5 stars

A couple of weeks ago our family suddenly found ourselves in a dreadful custody battle. We had spoke to lawyer that had wonderful reviews for father's rights, but it looked to them like the case was an inevitable defeat from the beginning. We began to lose hope that we were just going to have to roll over and take whatever was about to happen in court. We were broken with the thought of only seeing our girls' every other weekend and a month out of the summer, we were used to constantly being there for them and seeing them grow and learn new things. We decided to get a second opinion because we found it absurd that we would have no shot because Texas tends to side with mothers in custody battles, we found it to be an egregious offense for this particular mother to get primary custody. We came across Lynn Peach and everything changed for us immediately. Before we obtained her as our lawyer she had already started to prepare, she requested a different Judge and gave us a fighting chance. She said we had a strong case and she felt that she could help us out, boy was she right. With a little under two weeks Lynn prepared a case with substantial evidence to fight for us. The day finally came for court, Lynn stayed back and discussed everything with us until our court time, when it was go time the beast came out! After about three hours the verdict was in and we won, we started thinking that this was a lost cause at first, but Lynn gave us a different view and made our family feel like we could win. She was open and honest about everything, and unlike many lawyers she was not all about the money. She was very fair and if we ever are in need of a lawyer she will be it for our family. We highly recommend talking to her if you are searching for an attorney. Lynn Peach will for ever be considered a part of our family and we cannot thank her enough for giving us hope, being there for us when we felt we had no one and for giving us the chance to raise and teach the beautiful babies about life.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
