DO NOT USE ATTORNEY ALEX WHITE. I was curious about the first billing statement, and was told not to worry - it was covered by the retainer. This should have been my first clue: they didn't want me to review their billings - at all. Alex and her "paralegals" couldn't manage to remember key details about my case, even on a day in which we were to appear before the Court. She also apparently did not care to write notes. I told them the same things multiple times, and they billed me each time, even while they didn't remember, even the third time. I lost my case, which in and of itself would not necessarily mean she was an incompetent attorney. However, she can't access records which conflict with whatever she just said. And comflict with what she just wrote to me in an email. THAT's a problem. Feel free to contact me - I have loads of documents to justify my recommendation to NOT USE this law firm. Go somewhere that cares.

Do not use this law firm. They ignored every attempt on my behalf to reach them. Then once they decided I was worth their time and sent me an email I didn?t respond for 4 days. They stated they were going to drop me on the Friday before my hearing Monday because of lack of communication? Laughable and the most unprofessional people I?ve ever dealt with. When I asked about why my 6 emails and texts went ignored there was no response. Go figure. They left me in a horrible position and jeopardized my parenting time with my daughter. Today they sent me a statement where I was billed 2000 dollars for absolutely nothing. Nothing filed, no progress no results. This firm is malicious and if you value your family please do not use them. I?ll be happy to provide proof for anyone that requests it. Speaking with other attorneys, they are in disbelief of the treatment I?ve received and urged me to file malpractice.

Divorce is an emotional and difficult time in anyone?s life to have to go through and it shouldn?t be done alone. The moment I walked into the office Colleen made me feel welcome and made me feel like I was part of their family. Alex and her staff will work with you through every step of the process and answer any questions you may have. During the divorce process Alex and her staff made sure to keep me updated immediately on anything that was happening and responded in a very timely manner. I highly recommend anyone seeking a Divorce Lawyer to reach out to Alex White and her team first. I want to Thank Alex White and her ?Team? from the bottom of my heart for everything they did for me and my children.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
