Dennis Ford Eagan joined Finneran & Nicholson, P.C. as an Associate in 2002 and now serves the firm as Managing Director of Employment Law, Trademark Regulatory Compliance and Probate and Estate Planning. Attorney Eagan focuses his employment practice primarily on representing business and management clients in employment matters by assisting clients in drafting and reviewing employment agreements and contracts, employee handbooks and policies, and assisting clients in handling day-to-day compliance with state and federal law relating to hiring, termination, discrimination, wage and hour compliance and data security obligations. In addition, Attorney Eagan advises business clients in protecting their intellectual property interests, maintaining compliance with data security laws, including trademark and copyright protection, and in other general business matters. Attorney Eagan also counsels investment advisers and other securities industry licensees on compliance and meeting their regulatory obligations. Attorney Eagan assists in litigating business disputes, including trade secrets, unfair competition, and departing employee matters, including litigating restrictive covenant, confidentiality agreement, and breach of fiduciary duty cases.

Attorney Eagan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the Federal District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Attorney Eagan is also admitted to practice in New Hampshire. Attorney Eagan received his B.A. degree in political science from Boston College in 1998 and he received his Juris Doctor, cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in 2001.

While attending Suffolk, Attorney Eagan served as the Production Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review and served as a research assistant to Professor Charles E. Rounds, Jr. for Loring A Trustee's Handbook, 2001 Edition. Attorney Eagan authored a Note in the Law Review entitled The Past, Present and Future of School Desegregation Law in Massachusetts, 34 Suffolk U. L. Rev. 541 (2001), which has been cited by the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Attorney Eagan is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Labor and Employment Section and the Business Law Section Council. Attorney Eagan has co-chaired presentations before the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Newburyport Bar Association, Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce, Boston Business Alliance, Merrimack Valley Estate Planning Council and the North Shore Association of Realtors and other professional organization regarding various topics including employment law, employee/independent contractor classification and payment of wages and overtime the Massachusetts Identity Theft and Data Security regulations.
