Thomas J. Machasic is an experienced trial attorney and a dedicated, zealous advocate for his clients. Tom specializes in personal injury, civil rights violations, police misconduct and criminal law matters. He believes cases are won through preparation and tenacity. Tom has been recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star since 2014.
Tom’s recent successes include obtaining a six-figure jury verdict, plus attorney fees, for a client who was wrongfully denied auto-insurance benefits after suffering a traumatic brain injury in an auto accident. Tom also successfully argued before the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and obtained reversal of the trial court’s dismissal of a client’s police misconduct claim. The results he achieves on behalf of his clients is because of his compassion and advocacy inside and outside the courtroom.
Prior to joining Romano Law, Tom successfully operated his own law firm – Machasic Law Offices – where he was a sought after litigator representing clients in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties. Tom’s past experience includes divorce, criminal, warranty disputes, employment, personal injury, police misconduct, and dog bites.
Tom received his B.A. in finance from Michigan State University and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School. While in law school he interned for the Hon. Mark S. Switalksi of the Macomb County Circuit Court.
Tom lives in the Metro Detroit area with his wife. In his free time, Tom enjoys traveling, golfing and cycling.
