Law Firm Overview
Background Information
Corinne Hoover Six knew from a very young age that she would be an attorney. The daughter of Judge Kim Hoover and the granddaughter of long time Cuyahoga Falls attorney Orval R. Hoover, Corinne grew up in a family that excelled in the legal field and passed onto her a desire to help people when they need help the most. Now, Corinne carries on her family tradition as an attorney in private practice in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in the same building that her father, grandfather and other extended family members practiced before her.
Corinne is a proud alumna of both The University of Akron School of Law and Ohio University, where she earned her law degree and undergraduate degree, respectively. After college and before practicing law, Corinne gained relevant experience in the business and political fields, where she managed her family's property business, ran her father's judicial campaigns, and served as an office manager and bookkeeper for different law practices. Corinne also worked at the Summit County Board of Elections where she was responsible for hiring and overseeing the training of election poll workers. Since then, Corinne also gained a wealth of experience in the legal field, which includes, but is not limited to, working as a law clerk and apprentice to her grandfather and his firm, serving as a law clerk to Judge Linda Teodosio of the Summit County Juvenile Court and to the Appellate Division of the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, working as a part time Assistant Law Director/Prosecutor to the City of Tallmadge.
Areas of Practice
Like her father did as an attorney, Corinne focuses her practice primarily in the area of family law. This work includes divorce, dissolution, post-decree custody issues, juvenile abuse, neglect and dependency cases (where Children's Services are involved), and third party non-parent custody actions. Corinne serves extensively as both an attorney for children and a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) in both domestic relations and juvenile courts in Summit, Portage, Medina and Stark counties. Corinne also serves as a volunteer GAL through Summit County's CASA program and is on the Board of Directors of the Ohio CASA/GAL Association. Corinne has a passion for helping families, and especially children, through difficult family issues.
Aside from family law, Corinne also practices extensively in the area of collections. Corinne has been named Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General and is charged with the duty of collecting taxes and other judgments owed to the State of Ohio and its various agencies. As Special Counsel, Corinne has appeared in front of many of Ohio's 88 counties' courts of common pleas. From this work, Corinne has a unique knowledge of collection law and can use that knowledge to help you collect on money owed to you, whether you already have a judgment against another or want to obtain one. Corinne will consider special contingency fees arrangements on collection matters.
Criminal law and estate planning are other areas of law in which Corinne practices. Corinne has experience both as a prosecutor and defense attorney, which gives her a good understanding of criminal law issues and how to best represent her criminal law clients. Corinne has represented defendants in both misdemeanor and felony charges. In regards to estate planning, Corinne regularly drafts wills, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents for her clients and completes such work quickly, so as to give her clients the peace of mind they are seeking in regards to their final dispositions. Corinne also will provide discounted estate planning services to police, fire and EMS servicemen and women, as well as members of the United States Military as a tribute to their selfless service and to her grandfathers (both retired military) and brother in law (an active Marine).
Corinne will also consider representing clients in a number of other areas, depending on the subject matter and complexity of the issue. Corinne will also soon offer mediation services. A free thirty minute consultation is available by appointment.
Personal Information
Corinne is actively involved in several different community and charitable organizations. As a member of her church, Corinne serves on her church council and as a Sunday school teacher and camp counselor for Royal Family Kids' Camp, a camp that serves abused, neglected and abandoned children.
Corinne is also actively involved in her local bar association, as a general member and as a member of the leadership council of the Ab Initio Section. Corinne also serves as a volunteer for an annual Street Law Summit put on for area high school students and as a co-chair for Law Explorers, which introduces high school students to the legal field and various legal oriented occupations.
Corinne grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and Peninsula and therefore, chose to base her law practice in Cuyahoga Falls as well.
