Lawyer Overview

Mr. Horan graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2008 and received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico in 1995. He became associated with the firm in an Of Counsel capacity in 2009. His law practice focuses primarily in the area of government relations, legislative relations, municipal law and civil litigation.

Prior to law school, Mr. Horan had a career as a law enforcement officer for the Albuquerque Police Department, including a position as a violent crimes detective. Although he had a fulfilling career as an officer, he had always wanted to work with his father, Thomas J. Horan, a New Mexico state lobbyist, who also is Of Counsel to Sheehan, Sheehan & Stelzner. Before starting law school, he had an opportunity to assist his father at a Legislature and found that he enjoys problem solving and the creativity of being a lobbyist. He now has the opportunity to work with his father as a lobbyist and at the law firm.
