Past Experience

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carvalho was a legal intern for Attorney Bennet Jaffee at South Coastal Counties Legal Services in Massachusetts, where he researched substantive and procedural immigration law issues, including whether old age is bases for waiver of the English and History Test for Naturalization and what constitutes persecution for asylum purposed. Mr. Carvalho also served as a youth advocate in the Family Based Services section of the Old Colony YMCA, in Massachusetts. Mr. Carvalho advocated for at-risk youths (ages 10-18) in their homes, schools and communities and procured community services, including work, education and family therapy to meet the needs of each youth.

Before he began his legal studies, Mr. Carvalho interned for the Honorable Judd Carhart for the Hampden and Hampshire Superior Court in Springfield, Massachusetts.
