Colleen specializes in risk management relating to employment matters. After beginning her career at McLane as an associate in the corporate department, Colleen pursued her interest in employment law in the position of U.S. Associate Counsel to Irving Oil Corporation. At Irving, an international energy processing, transporting, and marketing company with over 7,000 employees, Colleen was responsible for the management of employment legal matters in the U.S. and Canada. Colleen's experience as in-house counsel gives her unique insight into the business demands of her clients. She is able to provide effective and practical guidance on all aspects of employment law including hiring practices, employment agreements, performance management, terminations, reductions in force, and employee handbook and policy creation and administration. Colleen also provides training to clients on issues such as harassment and discrimination, best human resources and management practices, and other statutory and regulatory compliance matters relevant to employers.
