Joe Melnik has extensive experience litigating complex patent cases in jurisdictions nationwide. He has successfully represented companies in critical patent cases relating to a wide variety of technologies, including cryptography, smart cards, biometrics, SMS messaging, internet-related technologies, wireless communications, networking protocols, semiconductors, electronic cataloging, and financial transactions.

In addition to patent litigation, Joe regularly advises electronics companies, software developers, and other companies on strategies for protecting and commercializing technology and for avoiding infringing upon third-party intellectual property rights. He provides strategic counseling to industry leading companies on the development and licensing of patent portfolios, participation in standard-setting organizations, and the evaluation of intellectual property issues in product development and corporate transactions.
