Frank I. Gaughan has an extensive litigation background in both workers' compensation and personal injury. He has practiced law in Illinois for more than 25 years in both the public and private sectors concentrated in trial practice.

Mr. Gaughan worked as a staff attorney for the Chicago Transit Authority and was a prosecutor in the office of the Cook County State 's Attorney.

As an Administrative Law Judge, for the Illinois Department of Public Health, Mr. Gaughan heard cases involving abuse and neglect and licensure issues. Additionally, he has served as hearing officer for the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation in cases involving doctors, dentists and chiropractors.

Mr. Gaughan brings a unique perspective to our practice, having represented both employers and injured workers for over 14 years.  He knows how insurance carriers handle claims and is able to anticipate defenses so that he can obtain the best settlement or award under the law for your workers' compensation injury.  He understands that when you are injured at work you need income continuation and payment of your medical bills while you are recovering from the injury.  Mr. Gaughan is now concentrated in representing injured workers.

Having graduated from the John Marshall Law School in 1980, Mr. Gaughan was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the U.S. District Court for Northern Illinois in 1980 and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit in 1981.  He is a member of the Federal Trial Bar, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and the Workers' Compensation Lawyers' Association.
