Law Firm Overview

Margaret Mitchem Stack has been involved in Criminal Trial Practice since law school where she was a member of the University of Florida's first Trial Team. She was a member of the State Attorney's Manual Revision Committee and received Honors in Criminal Clinic as well as in Legal Writing and Research. Her other main focus was on Family Law and she received the Book Award for Family law.

While still in law school Ms. Stack interned as a Certified Legal Intern in the State Attorney's Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit where she tried many DUI and other traffic cases. Following her graduation from law school Ms. Stack became an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit. In 1985 she transferred to the Eighth Judicial Circuit where she was employed as an Assistant State Attorney until her retirement in 2008. She has been Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Criminal Trial Law since 1993.

During her years as an Assistant State Attorney, Ms. Stack handled all types of criminal cases from DUI to First Degree Murder. She has presented many First Degree Murder cases to Grand Juries and successfully prosecuted them. She has served as a Division Chief and headed up various special units involving violent crime, narcotics trafficking, organized crime and robberies.

Ms. Stack has served of the Eighth Judicial Circuit's Grievance Committee and currently is the Chair of The Florida Bar's Unauthorized Practice of Law for the Eight Circuit. As a member of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association she has served as a Board Member and has been the Chair of the Holiday Project which provides Christmas gifts to needy children. She is currently the President of EJCBA as well as a member of CG-AWL, FACDL and Inns of Court. Her commitment to the profession and the community runs deep.

Ms. Stack has extensive experience in all phases of criminal law from investigation to trial.
