Lawyer Overview

Vanessa Siino received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley. After graduation, she spent time tutoring remedial reading and comprehension to students with developmental and learning disabilities and working in a high school English classroom. Vanessa decided to go to law school after working at The Dolan Law Firm as a legal assistant and seeing first-hand the good work the firm was doing for plaintiffs. While working as an assistant, Vanessa had the opportunity to second chair the trial of a motorcycle v. automobile collision case, which resulted in a substantial verdict for the Plaintiff motorcyclist.

Vanessa attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. During law school, Vanessa volunteered at the ACCESS clinic at the San Francisco Superior Court, helping self-represented litigants navigate the legal system, as a tutor at the Tenderloin After-School Program, and as a mentor at the San Francisco Bar Association's School to College Program. She worked as a law clerk at Kletter & Peretz and The Cartwright Law Firm, assisting in employment discrimination, wage-and-hour, landlord tenant, and personal injury cases.

Vanessa also spent a semester at the Legal Aid Society's Worker's Rights Clinic, where she helped to advise workers on a wide-variety of employment-related problems. During her final year of law school, Vanessa served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Nandor J. Vadas of the Northern District of California. This position allowed her to serve as "elbow clerk" during the trial of a Title VII retaliation case.

After graduating from Hastings in 2008, Vanessa returned to work at The Dolan Law Firm, where she champions the rights of both workers wronged by their employers and individuals injured by the actions of others. Vanessa has worked to prepare several personal injury cases for trial and settlement, has done pre- and post-trial motion work, and has enjoyed building positive relationships with her clients.

In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys cooking, reading 19th and early 20th Century novels, hiking and rockin' out. She also hopes to soon restore a long-dormant interest in crafts.
