Lawyer Overview

Laurie Charrington's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. Laurie's experience includes litigating copyright, patent, trade dress, trade secret, false advertising, unfair competition, and general commercial matters. She has represented clients in litigation matters relating to technologies such as computer software, hardware, and communications. Prior to joining Jones Day, Laurie was an associate at Fenwick & West LLP and Day Casebeer Madrid & Batchelder.

While in law school, Laurie served as a student attorney representing children who were brought before the family court because of child abuse and child neglect concerns. Before law school, she worked in New York City government for eight years as a manager, analyst, organizer, and coordinator, first for the Queens District Attorney and then for the office of the Queens Borough President.
