Lawyer Overview

Andreas Zeller has worked in intellectual property law since 2004. He advises clients in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and medical technology. His experience includes drafting and prosecuting German, European, and international (PCT) patent applications as well as representing clients in opposition and appeal proceedings. He also prepares opinions on patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate and is involved in nullity and infringement proceedings. Before joining Jones Day in 2009, Andreas was with the firm of Vossius & Partner in Munich.

Andreas studied electrical engineering in Germany, where he focused on communications engineering. Prior to his studies, he completed an apprenticeship as a radio and television engineer. For his bachelor thesis he developed a microprocessor-controlled biotelemetry system at a laboratory at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) in Curitiba, Brazil. For his diploma thesis he developed a measurement automation system.
