Lawyer Overview

My practice involves the representation of businesses and individuals in business formation and operation, contract, estate planning, real estate, labor/employment, and related litigation matters. I am also the Assistant Law Director and Assistant Prosecutor for the City of Westerville and provide advice to the Firm's other municipal clients, including the Village of Centerburg, on a variety of topics.

I recently returned to my home state of Ohio following an eight year stint in Washington DC. From 2008 to 2010, I worked at Cooley LLP, where I practiced general business and corporate law, representing privately held and publicly traded companies, as well as venture capital firms and angel investors in a variety of matters, including company formation, private equity offerings, venture capital financings, domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, public offerings and reporting and compliance obligations with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Prior to Cooley, I spent five years as a legislative aide for my hometown representative, United States Congressman Steve Chabot. During my time on Capitol Hill, I served as the Congressman's primary advisor on a range of issues, including matters affecting the Nation's tax, budget, foreign affairs, defense, homeland security, veterans, labor, banking, pension and small business policies. In 2006, I was also given the opportunity to successfully manage the re-election campaign of Congressman Chabot, which was targeted as one of the most competitive congressional races in the country.

On a personal note, I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio; I was fortunate enough to meet my wife Jennifer, a wonderful Ohio girl and Columbus native, while living in Washington DC. In my free time, I can be found out on the golf course, playing with my black Labrador, Moose, or rooting on the Miami University Redhawks, having been a member of the Charlie Coles-led Men's Basketball Team that made its Cinderella run in the 1999 NCAA Tournament.
