She attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where she earned a B.B.A. in Accounting with a minor in Biology, graduating magna cum laude. On scholarship at the University of Georgia School of Law, she earned her J.D. in 2003. She is admitted to practice law with the State Bar of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia, the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. She is also a registered lobbyist with the State of Georgia. Professionally, she is a member of the Cobb County Bar Association, participating in the Younger Lawyers' Division. Her practice areas include: land use and development, zoning law, commercial and residential real estate contracts and litigation, alcohol licensing (local and state), local government law, eminent domain, nonprofit corporations, corporations, real property taxation, and civil litigation.

She has also assisted in representing the Cobb County Board of Tax Assessors. She has always been involved in her community, with numerous activities in college and during her professional career.
