Summary

Law Firm Overview

Focused on Special Education in Southern California

Children with eligible disabilities are legally entitled to a free and appropriate public education. Ms. Zuk helps clients understand the complex laws that protect the educational rights of children with disabilities. To schedule an appointment, contact Ms. Zuk online or call 562-375-0104.

25 Years of Experience in Special Education

Ms. Zuk is uniquely qualified to analyze cases from both a legal and an educational perspective. In addition to 11 years of legal experience, she has over 14 years of educational experience in Canada and the United States. She is a former general education Kindergarten teacher, special education teacher, and counselor for general and special education students. Ms. Zuk was a Diagnostic Educational Specialist at the California Department of Education's Diagnostic Center for 8 years, where she conducted assessments, recommended special education strategies, and completed her internship in school psychology. Ms. Zuk has trained parents, educators, and administrators on best educational practices and compliance with special education law. Ms. Zuk's broad background, from writing IEPs to litigating cases, makes her well qualified to help clients meet their objectives.

Legal Representation at Due Process Hearings

If a special education dispute proceeds to a due process hearing, an administrative law judge will analyze the applicable laws and determine the extent to which a school district has offered or provided a child with an appropriate education. Ms. Zuk advises clients on preparing effectively for on-going IEP Meetings, determining the need for further expert opinions, participating in settlement negotiations, and vigorously representing their cases in court. Ms. Zuk is sensitive to the high cost of attorney's fees and offers her client's customized billing arrangements, including flat fees.
