Lawyer Overview

Tara L. Morgan is an associate in the Cerritos office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo.  Ms. Morgan represents employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination claims, and wage and hour disputes.  Ms. Morgan can provide advice and counsel to employers on human resources issues and regularly conducts employee handbook, personnel policy, wage and hour, and procedure audits.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Morgan worked in human resources for ten years and has extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, staffing, training, and benefits.  Her diverse experience includes industries, such as electric utilities, plastics, synthetic fibers, union and non-union shops, manufacturing, service, insurance, banking, and international logistics.

Ms. Morgan earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management at the University of South Alabama, her Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Troy State University, and her Juris Doctorate at Western State University.  Additionally, Ms. Morgan holds her Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR).

While attending law school at Western State University, Ms. Morgan was both the Marketing and Student Writing Editor of the Law Review.  She also served as a Legal Extern for an International Human Rights Organization in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Ms. Morgan is currently a member of the State Bar of California, the National Human Resources Association (NHRA), and Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM).
