Biography:

As a Los Angeles native, Mr. Twining has extensive ties with the community. A graduate of the prestigious Harvard-Westlake School, he attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where he studied Economics and Psychology and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He then returned home and attended Loyola Law School in downtown Los Angeles. Although Mr. Twining was in the top fifth of his graduating class at Loyola, he eschewed the trappings of big firm corporate law and its impersonal nature and instead chose to start his own practice focusing on the needs of individuals and small businesses.

Mr. Twining is a West Los Angeles Attorney specializing in Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Administration and Elder Law. With strong ties to the community he serves, Mr. Twining is committed to ensuring true piece of mind for all his clients. He accomplishes this with an integrative approach to Estate Planning. He believes planning for an estate involves much more than the simple preparation of a standard will, living trust and power of attorney. In addition to considering the usual objectives of reducing or eliminating probate fees and minimizing overall estate taxes, he also encourages his clients to contemplate other goals such as whether or not they want heirs to be able to keep a house left to them, who they want to run a business, the likelihood that siblings will be able to get along, planning for long term care, retirement, the education of minor beneficiaries, and even pets.

Mr. Twining is unique and innovative in that he makes house calls (even on nights and weekends by appointment only) to accommodate his busy or mobility challenged clients.

Philanthropy:

Mr. Twining volunteered hundreds of hours both prior to attending and during law school at Public Counsel Law Center, the country’s largest pro-bono law firm. Currently, Mr. Twining serves as co-chair of the Wills for Heroes Committee of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Barristers. This Committee coordinates pro-bono estate planning events for First Responders and their spouses in association with the Wills for Heroes Organization. The events rely upon volunteer attorneys, notaries, and witnesses to provide Firemen, Police Officers, Paramedics, and EMTs with a basic will, a durable power of attorney for financial affairs and an advanced health care directive.

Hobbies/ Personal Interests:

Mr. Twining lives and works in Westwood where he enjoys many outdoor activities that the Southern California climate permits including: hiking, beach volleyball, surfing, snowboarding, backpacking, and mountain biking. He is also a self described dog lover and lives happily with his one-year old lab mix, which he rescued from a Los Angeles animal shelter.

He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in all California State courts, and the United States District Court, Central District of California.
