Petr Shevtsov concentrates on M&A transactions involving Russia and related regulatory matters.
Petr's most recent experience includes acting for Altimo in its $23.8 billion transaction with Telenor to combine their respective holdings in VimpelCom and Kyivstar under a newly formed emerging markets mobile operator VimpelCom, Ltd. and acting for Eldorado Group in connection with the formation of the largest retail consumer electronics joint venture in Russia with PPF Group, a Czech financial group.
From 2003 to 2006 Petr was in-house counsel with SeverStal, one of Russia's leading steelmakers, where he worked on a wide range of transactional matters. From 2006 to 2008 he was the general counsel of Sveza, one of Russia's leading plywood and particle board makers. He worked on the acquisition by Sveza of controlling stakes in Permskiy and Manturovskiy plywood mills and the formation of a €1.2 billion joint venture with UPM to build and operate a pulp mill, an OSB mill, and a saw mill in the Vologda region.
