Lawyer Overview

William Bennett focuses his practice on securities regulation, corporate transactions, and corporate governance.

William regularly represents domestic companies and foreign private issuers in connection with initial public offerings, primary and secondary offerings, private placements, tender offers, mergers and acquisitions, and ongoing periodic and current reporting obligations under the US federal securities laws. His experience covers a wide range of industries, including financial services, telecommunications and communications, media, renewable energy, health care, real estate, manufacturing, and information and consulting services. 

Prior to joining the firm, William was an attorney with the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, where he worked in the Office of Telecommunications and in the Office of Beverages, Apparel and Health Care Services. While in the Division of Corporation Finance, William reviewed and advised on numerous initial public offerings of equity and debt, secondary offerings, PIPE and equity line offerings, merger registration statements, proxy and information statements, “going private transactions,” spin-offs, and current and periodic reports. Before joining the Division of Corporation Finance, he also served as a legal intern in the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets.
