Mathias Schönhaus’ practice focuses on national and international tax law, mainly in the areas of corporate taxation and restructuring, cross-border transactions, and fund structuring.
Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Mathias worked in the Hamburg office of another leading international law firm, where he was an associate in the international tax group. His clients included several international investment funds, and companies operating in various industrial and service sectors, such as the automotive, media, and telecommunications sectors.
Mathias' doctoral thesis focused on aspects of international double taxation conventions. He served his legal clerkship with major international law firms in Berlin and New York.
