Lawyer Overview

Dr. Anke Meier's practice focuses on national and international litigation and arbitration. She has extensive experience with arbitration proceedings conducted under various arbitration rules and with international procedural law, including the enforcement of foreign judgments/awards and the international taking of evidence. Her practice focuses primarily on corporate, commercial, and civil cases; and she also has experience in securities litigation and products liability cases. In national litigation, Anke represents clients before the courts of first instance and the court of appeals as well as in proceedings for preliminary relief. Anke is admitted to the Landgericht (regional court) and to the Oberlandesgericht (higher regional court) in Düsseldorf. Prior to joining Jones Day, Anke worked for more than five years in the dispute resolution practice of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Düsseldorf.

Anke is fluent in German and English and has a working knowledge of French and Spanish. She is author of a dissertation on the legal history of German bankruptcy laws as well as articles in English on alternative dispute resolution, including the use of e-discovery in international commercial arbitration and negotiation theory and practice.
