Lawyer Overview

Melissa's practice focuses on defending employers in state and federal courts in cases involving a wide array of employment-related disputes, including claims of wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, failure to accommodate, trade secret misappropriation, breach of fiduciary duty, and employee raiding. Melissa also has experience advising retailers on public accommodation access laws, including Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Melissa is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and serves on the Civil Procedure Subcommittee of the OCBA's Resolutions Committee. She is also a member of the Orange County Women Lawyers Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She previously served on the board of directors of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles from 2001 to 2003 and from 2005 to 2006. For the past five years (2004-2008), Melissa has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Los Angeles Magazine — a distinction reserved for only 2.5 percent of California lawyers who are under 40 or who have been in practice for 10 years or less.
