James Allen is a partner with Clark & Allen, P.C. He is a litigator who concentrates his practice in civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, professional malpractice, traffic and criminal defense, and general civil law. Jim handles a wide range of disputes before courts and administrative agencies throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Jim has handled personal injury cases since 1993, representing both injured claimants and defending such claims. He spent several years working for larger firms in Washington, DC and Virginia defending insurance companies, corporations, hospitals, doctors and medical practices, home health care agencies, rental car companies, retail and restaurant establishments, and railroads from all manner of injury-related claims. He continues to handle some defense work, as well as some plaintiff’s work, to maintain a well-rounded practice.

Jim has extensive experience as a trial lawyer and has successfully tried hundreds of civil, criminal and personal injury cases. He has a thorough understanding of procedural and substantive laws, and significant experience as a local practitioner in the Washington DC Metro area since 1993.

Jim practices in all state and federal trial and appellate courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the State of Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He also handles cases in arbitration and before state agencies.
