Lawyer Overview

Jeff Gordon is a trial lawyer who helps clients solve business disputes. His primary areas of practice are business, class action, and intellectual property litigation; internal investigations and compliance advice for corporate clients; and white-collar defense. He has handled business disputes concerning a wide range of issues, including accounting fraud, health care fraud, shareholder derivative suits, board of director liability litigation, False Claims Act (including qui tam lawsuits), and patent and trademark infringement. Jeff's litigation, investigations, and white-collar practices include the representation of corporations and individuals in all stages of federal and state civil and criminal proceedings, as well as legislative and regulatory enforcement proceedings. He has tried cases in federal and state courts in a number of jurisdictions and has experience resolving matters through mediation and arbitration.

Jeff served as lead counsel for an international medical device manufacturer in an internal investigation of alleged accounting fraud in its U.S. and French offices and has counseled clients on issues raised by the Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). In addition, he was one of the investigators representing Sen. George J. Mitchell in the independent investigation into the alleged illegal use of steroids and other performance enhancing substances in Major League Baseball.

Jeff is the former two-year captain of the University of Pennsylvania's Men's tennis team and remains active in various alumni committees and other sporting activities. He is a member of a number of civic organizations, including The First Tee of Baltimore, the Baltimore Urban Debate League, the Lawyers Campaign for Hunger, and mentoring programs for disadvantaged youths. He is a member of the American, National, Maryland, and Baltimore bar associations.
