Lawyer Overview

Jeff Gordon is a trial lawyer who helps clients solve business disputes. His primary areas of practice are business, class action, and intellectual property litigation; internal investigations and compliance advice for corporate clients; and white-collar defense. He has handled disputes concerning a wide range of issues, including accounting fraud, health care fraud, shareholder derivative suits, board of director liability litigation, False Claims Act (including qui tam lawsuits), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, and patent and trademark infringement. Jeff's litigation, investigations, and white-collar practices include the representation of corporations and individuals in all stages of federal and state civil and criminal proceedings, as well as legislative and regulatory enforcement proceedings. He has tried cases in federal and state courts in a number of jurisdictions and has experience resolving matters through mediation and arbitration.

Jeff served as lead counsel for an international medical device manufacturer in a number of internal investigations, including an investigation of alleged accounting fraud in its U.S. and French offices, and has counseled clients on issues raised by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). In addition, he was one of the investigators in the independent investigation into the alleged illegal use of steroids and other performance enhancing substances in Major League Baseball.

Jeff is the former two-year captain of the University of Pennsylvania's tennis team and remains active in various alumni committees. He is a member of a number of civic organizations, including The First Tee of Baltimore.
