Elizabeth advises on all aspects of intellectual property law, from both a contentious and noncontentious perspective.

Elizabeth has experience in patent, trade mark, copyright, and passing off litigation and has a special interest in pharmaceutical patent litigation. She has represented clients in matters in many different fields of technology, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and telecommunications. Elizabeth also has experience in trade mark and patent opposition and prosecution proceedings.

Elizabeth regularly advises clients on patent law, trade mark law, copyrights, and passing off and branding issues. She also has experience in preparing and advising on licensing, research and development, clinical trial, supply and manufacture, assignment and joint venture agreements related to intellectual property, as well as the intellectual property aspects of other agreements such as asset and business sales. Prior to joining Jones Day, Elizabeth spent nine months seconded to the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation as an in-house legal counsel. Her work there involved preparing detailed analysis on the interpretation of existing contracts, drafting and negotiating new agreements with collaborative partners of CSIRO, and negotiation and settlement of disputes.
