Rachael A. Sylvester was born in Wooster, Ohio on August 20, 1981, but spent most of her childhood in Raleigh, North Carolina. She attended the College of Charleston on an athletic scholarship, where she was also a member of Delta Delta Delta. She began working for Pierce, Herns, Sloan & McLeod, LLC after college, and continued her employment with the firm while attending the Charleston School of Law. While at law school, she was chair of the fundraising committee, a dean's scholar/study group leader, and a member of the women in law. She was also named top student in her Trial Advocacy class. Following law school, she began working as an assistant public defender in Orangeburg County, and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2007. Rachael began work as an associate with Pierce, Herns, Sloan & McLeod in 2008, and her areas of practice include insurance, construction litigation, asbestos defense, and personal injury.
