Lawyer Overview

Lian's practice focuses on cross-border inbound and outbound investments, including mergers and acquisitions and other business transactions in mainland China, Hong Kong, and tax-advantaged jurisdictions. She also advises domestic Chinese companies seeking to develop U.S. market, sales, and distribution channels and seeking access to the U.S. capital markets.

Lian has significant experience in Chinese regulatory requirements affecting investment in and operation of foreign and domestic companies, including the formation of offshore investment structures involving Chinese operations. Lian assisted with the creation of a joint venture capital fund between the city of Shanghai and investors from the U.S. She was responsible for analyzing China's offshore investment requirements and other domestic requirements related to the establishment and operation of the fund.
