Lawyer Overview
Clarisse practices in the area of international arbitration and litigation with a special focus on transnational disputes involving European companies.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2008, Clarisse worked in Beijing as an associate for another major international law firm, where she advised and represented foreign (primarily European) companies in commercial disputes regarding general contract law, joint ventures and other FDI projects, and IP disputes.
After receiving her master's degree, Clarisse worked for a major law firm in Zurich where she assisted clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings in the areas of corporate, general contract, and inheritance law. She also worked as a legal clerk at the District Court of Zurich.
Clarisse is a member of the IBA and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA). She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in enforcement of arbitral awards in China.
Clarisse is a native French and German speaker. She also speaks English and Spanish fluently and has a solid knowledge of Mandarin.
She is coauthor of articles on arbitration law and banking law in China. In addition, she has spoken at conferences and seminars on legal issues relating to doing business in China such as arbitration, IP protection, and starting up a company.
