Lawyer Overview

Ed Carter practices primarily in the Firm's product liability & tort litigation practice. He also has experience in the area of civil and commercial litigation.

Ed's significant litigation experiences include representation of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in complex, multijurisdictional product liability cases involving enforcement actions brought by various state attorneys general. His experience covers all aspects of briefing and motion practice; offensive and defensive discovery, including the evaluation, development, and preparation of fact and expert witnesses for trial, as well as taking the deposition of 30(b)(6) witnesses and defending the depositions of fact and expert witnesses; handling evidentiary and privilege issues; negotiating pretrial stipulations; and working with local counsel.

In addition, Ed's significant experience includes working as part of the Firm's team conducting the fact investigation for a client in an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ed currently serves as a member of the Firm's Diversity Task Force and is a member of the Ohio Bar, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association (Products Liability Section).
