Lawyer Overview

Ed Carter represents clients in the tobacco and utility vehicle industries. He has experience defending individual personal injury and wrongful death actions as well as actions brought by governments and state attorneys general. He also has experience in the area of civil and commercial litigation.

Ed has been a member of several trial teams, highlighted by representations of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. As a member of these teams, he has been involved in all stages of litigation. Ed has a wide range of experience in briefing and motions practice; offensive and defensive discovery; the evaluation, development, and preparation of fact and expert witnesses for trial; taking and defending the depositions of fact, expert, and representative witnesses; negotiating pretrial stipulations and jury instructions; preparing for mediation; managing litigation; and working with local counsel.

Ed currently serves as a member of the Firm's Diversity Task Force and is a member of the Ohio Bar, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association (Products Liability Section).
