Susan Sun practices in the area of construction and infrastructure projects, mining, and international investment. She has represented clients in China, the United Arab Emirates,other Arab countries, and Papua New Guinea. Susan was previously the general manager of the legal department of a Chinese mining company based in Papua New Guinea and in that role dealt with mining leases, project financings, FIDIC EPC contracts, mergers and acquisitions, land ownership, and mining development contracts with the central and local governments. She also has experience with international project management.

Susan was previously an official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, and Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Yemen for 14 years and has a good understanding of central government policies towards China enterprises "going out" and foreign investment into China. Susan's unique experience as a diplomat, a government official, and a lawyer give her a well-rounded and deep understanding of the difficulties faced by Chinese companies operating outside China.

Susan is one of only 12 legal specialists appointed by the China International Contractors Association and has provided professional legal services to its members in the area of international construction projects.

Susan is author of "Dispute Settlement Under FIDIC Contracts," published in the journal International Economic Cooperation (April 2002). She is fluent in Chinese, English, and Arabic.
