Lawyer Overview

Peggy focuses on the areas of law pertaining to IP portfolio creation and management; conducting IP audits; enforcement and exploitation of IP rights; providing IP support on M&A and other commercial transactions, licensing, and technology transfer; and general IP advisory. In addition to being a solicitor, Peggy is a registered trademark attorney before the European Trademark Office and in the U.K. and Canada.

For more than 10 years, Peggy has played an active role in lobbying the Hong Kong government on amendments to the IP laws of Hong Kong, including the amendment of the Patents Ordinance, Registered Designs Ordinance and Copyright Ordinance in 1997, and the Trade Marks Ordinance in 2003 and subsequent amendments to these legislations.

Peggy holds a number of industry and professional appointments, including being the past president and current council member of The Hong Kong Institute of Trade Marks Practitioners (HKITMP); councilor of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association, Hong Kong Chapter (APAA); chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 2009 APAA General Assembly & Annual Meeting in HK; member of the Education, the Patents & Design, the Disciplinary, and the Trade Mark Agent Register subcommittees of HKITMP; member of the Patents Committee and Statutes Revision Committee of APAA; member of the Pharmaceuticals Subcommittee of the International Trademarks Association (INTA); and honorary legal advisor of the Institute of Cardiovascular Science and Medicine, the Sun Chieh Yeh Heart Foundation, the Hong Kong College of Cardiology, and the International Chinese Heart Health Network.

In addition, Peggy contributes to public service. She previously sat on the Film Censorship Panel and currently serves as an adjudicator of the Registration of Persons Tribunal of the Hong Kong SAR government.
