Paul is experienced in the full range of international and domestic restructuring and insolvency matters. He has advised creditors and distressed corporates in large cross-border restructurings and has extensive experience in cross-border and domestic-based formal insolvencies. Paul's clients include financial institutions, investors, insolvency practitioners, and corporates.

Notable examples of Paul's experience include acting for:

• the ad hoc creditors' committee in the Eurotunnel restructuring

• the senior creditor in the restructuring of Leicester City FC out of administration

• the administrators of the European Enron entities for five years, including making what is believed to be the first successful use of the EC Insolvency Regulation to place a non-English company into administration

• the administrators of the SFI group of companies in a hybrid prepacked business sale and trading administration

• the administrators of the sports and racing car division of MG Rover

• a key stakeholder in the Box Clever receivership

• the German liquidator of the ISA-Daisytek companies

• the administrators of Ionica plc

• Network Rail in the discharge of the Railtrack administration and

• the note issuer company in Midland Electricity group in its financial restructuring.

Paul lectures on a variety of topics, with a special interest in the insolvency jurisdiction of the English courts, the use of prepackaged transactions as a means of acquiring distressed businesses, and the use of contingency planning in restructurings.
