Lawyer Overview

Jaime Choi specializes in the drafting and prosecution of United States and foreign patents in the areas of nanotechnology, materials, electronics, telecommunications, and software. Jaime's areas of practice also include litigation support and the preparation of noninfringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate opinions.

Before joining Jones Day, Jaime was a technology specialist in the Boston office of Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr. Prior to entering the intellectual property field, she was a graduate research assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she studied complex materials using ultrafast laser spectroscopy. She also interned at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she studied self-assembling and other complex materials. Jaime is coauthor of several published journal articles and a pending patent application.
