Lawyer Overview
Dr. Martin Kock's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate work for German and foreign companies, particularly venture capital and private equity firms.
Martin recently advised on investment transactions for the venture capital vehicle of Deutsche Telekom and for XAnge Private Equity, a French venture capital firm. He represented Inveni Capital, a Finnish-German biotech fund, in connection with its formation and with venture capital transactions in Germany. Martin also assisted DAB bank, one of Germany's largest discount brokers, in the acquisition of financial services providers, one of which had been an affiliate of HypoVereinsbank and Münchener Rück. In corporate matters, Martin is advising several U.S. companies, including Electronic Theatre Controls, a global leader in the design and manufacture of lighting products, and Clopay Plastics Corporation, a manufacturer of polymer products.
In 1998, Martin became managing partner of the Hong Kong office of a leading German law firm. In 2002, Martin was one of the founding partners of the first German office of another U.S. law firm. He is a member of the German-American Lawyers' Association and the German Institute for Arbitration.
