With a focus on employment litigation and business law and litigation, Heitman has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts in Oregon and Washington.  He has represented clients in matters related to employment discrimination, wage claims, contract disputes, Uniform Commercial Code Article 2 and Article 4 disputes, construction lien and trust deed foreclosures, as well as common law negligence actions.  Heitman helps individuals recover lost wages and damages related to discrimination at their workplace because of their race or sex or sexual harassment.

He has helped businesses resolve disputes over contracts, warranties, construction liens, construction defects and financial account fraud.  In doing so, Heitman has represented individuals, commercial banks, national retail chains, landscape contractors, construction material manufacturers and real estate investors and developers.

Heitman, himself a Certified Public Accountant, entrepreneur and small-business owner, understands his clients' businesses, transactions and issues from their point of view.  Heitman's experience allows his to achieve the best result possible for his clients.  Having worked with and for some of the top businesses in the fields of consumer products, healthcare, medical equipment and supplies, banking, transportation, and construction, Heitman has a vast amount of knowledge and expertise in these fields, which he uses to get good results for his clients. 

Heitman has a track record of trying cases that deserve to be tried and settling cases through alternate dispute resolution when a good result can be achieved for his client.  Heitman has participated in numerous mediations and arbitrations of disputes in federal and state courts, achieving outstanding results for his clients.

Before launching his private practice, Heitman was with a boutique Portland law firm of trial attorneys specializing in business and commercial litigation, including financial fraud disputes, and real estate transactions and disputes.

Although Heitman's office is in downtown Portland, Oregon, he has appeared in circuit courts for the state of Oregon in Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington , Linn, Lane, Marion, Tillamook and Yamhill counties.  He has also appeared in King and Snohomish counties in the state of Washington .  Heitman is admitted to practice law in United States District Court for the District of Oregon where he has appeared many times. 

Perry is active in his Northwest Portland neighborhood community, where he currently serves as Vice-President of his neighborhood association.  He is also involved with community-based non-profit organizations that advocate for equal rights and protections for all individuals.
