Jonathan W. Barlow, an associate with Bowler Dixon & Twitchell, represents executors, administrators, trustees, and other interested parties in probate and trust administrations ranging in value from over $2 million to numerous estates in value from $100,000 to $1,000,000. He also represents interested parties in probate and trust litigation in resolving disputes and legal issues related to probate and trust administrations. Mr. Barlow also represents clients in civil and commercial litigation, including contractual disputes and construction related disputes. He recently successfully defended a client through trial against a breach of contract claim where the Plaintiff was seeking over $200,000 in claimed damages. In addition, Mr. Barlow assists clients with their transactional needs, including advising clients regarding wills, trusts, and other estate planning strategies, advising clients regarding business planning strategies, including the formation and licensing of business entities at the state and local level, and negotiating and representing clients in other business related transactions and agreements. He also assists non-profit clients in applying for and obtaining tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.
Mr. Barlow received his Juris Doctor degree from the College of William & Mary School of Law in 2006. While at William & Mary, he served as a Notes Editor for the William and Mary Law Review and as a teaching assistant in the award-winning Legal Skills program. He also completed an externship with United States Magistrate Judge F. Bradford Stillman. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Barlow earned an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Utah in 2003, majoring in Political Science.
